Example of Criminal Charges Filed Against Nursing Home Facility

A small town nestled in the inland hills of Southern California has become the scene of a nursing home abuse case. Three individuals have been charged in the case.

The California Attorney General’s Office filed a criminal complaint against Braswell’s Hampton Manor. Charges include felony counts of elder abuse leading to great bodily injury.

While details of the nursing home abuse remain sketchy, the defendants, along with the facility itself, pleaded not guilty on Dec. 22.

The trial is scheduled to begin in March of 2012. The current condition of the victim has not been reported.

The frequency with which such elder abuse cases occur in our nation’s nursing homes truly is alarming; this is all the more reason for experienced lawyers to be brought in to help victims gain compensation for their pain and suffering.
