Where Do Divorce Hearings Take Place in Northeast Ohio?

In Northeast Ohio, Divorce Hearings Take Place in Each County’s Common Pleas Court, Domestic Division. Whenever you have a hearing for a divorce, that hearing will always take place in the county seat, and not necessarily in the city where you live (unless you live in the county seat).For instance, if you live in Stow, Ohio even though Stow has its own courthouse, the hearing will always be in Akron, which is the county seat. This is because divorce court is a county court, a division of Common Pleas Court, and not a city court. The Stow courthouse, for instance is a Municipal (city) court.

When you arrive at the county courthouse, the guards at the metal detectors will always be able to tell you where the Domestic court rooms are. Once you get to the Domestic Court area, there will always be other people there to direct you to the right room. As long as you can find the courthouse, you will always be able to find the right room. Just ask.
